The federal government has appealed the judgement of the Abuja Federal High Court which ordered it to release the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IMN, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IMN, on Tuesday marched to the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, headquarters in Abuja in protest of the continued detention of their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, his wife and other members of the group.
Amnesty International, AI, an international human rights organization, has called on the Nigerian government to release the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IMN, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife as ordered by a court of competent jurisdiction in December 2016.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has warned the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, also called the Shiite Islamic sect, against carrying out any protest in the FCT.
