The Senate has invited the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo-Udoma to throw more light on the Medium Term Expenditure Framework, MTEF, which formed the basis for the formulation of the 2017 – 2019 budget proposals.
The federal government has unveiled key benchmarks for the budget of 2017.
This was done by Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo-Udoma during a medium term fiscal framework public consultative forum with civil society organisations and the private sector.
The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma, has dismissed rumours that the federal government had dumped the National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan,NIIMP, rather, he said the government was reviewing the document to make it conform to current realities.
The Federal government is committed to strengthening the linkage between development plans and budgeting processes to ensure better implementation of projects and programmes towards speedy recovery of the economy.
The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma, has said the implementation of the provisions of the 2016 budget will lead to a sustainable turnaround for the Nigerian economy in spite of the prevailing challenges.
