The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, which has remained shut for over one month, is now ready for commencement of flight operations, the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Saleh Dunoma has said.
Arik Air, has accused the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, of ‘unprofessional’ conduct by going public with the N6 Million fine Issued to the Airline on Tuesday.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has ordered Arik Air to return all delayed luggage of its passengers from London to Lagos within the next 24 hours, as well as pay the affected passengers $150 each as compensation.
Flight operations were disrupted at the international terminal of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, for two days – Saturday and Sunday – following continued power outage there.
Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, workers in Kano and two affiliated unions, staged a mass protest on Tuesday over the plan by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Serika to concession the four major airports in the country, saying such move would endanger the jobs of over 6,000 FAAN workers.
