Ifeanyi Ubah

Few hours after the federal high court Lagos, gave the Department of State Services, DSS, a 48-hour ultimatum to release the detained Chairman of Capital oil and Gas limited, Ifeanyi Ubah, the Abuja division of the same court has empowered the same DSS to detain Ubah for another 14 days.

Justice Mohammed Idris in his judgment held that Ubah should be released since the DSS has failed to file a charge against him.

An ex parte application was filed by Ubah’s lawyer, Ifeoma Esom at the Federal High Court, Lagos on Tuesday.

The oil magnate, who is also the owner of Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club in the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL, was arrested on Friday, May 5.
