A United Kingdom-based newspaper, the African Voice, has honoured Abdulmumin Jibrin, the suspended former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on appropriation, with the African Voice Leadership in Legislative Governance Award by African Voice.

Abdulmumin Jibrin, the ousted Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, has described as shameful the threat of Speaker Yakubu Dogara to sue him for damages over corruption allegations he made against him and some other principal officers of the house.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has called for thorough investigation into the allegation of budget padding by the leadership of the Federal House of Representatives. He expressed this opinion while speaking with journalists after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the state house on Monday.

The brouhaha surrounding the removal of the Abdulmumin Jibrin as Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on appropriation, by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, is anything but over.
