An Abuja Upper Area Court has remanded one Ahmed Echodo in Keffi Prison, Nasarawa State, for allegedly providing false information to the police leading to the raid on the official Guest House of the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, in Maitama, Abuja.
Police Public Relations Officer of Bayelsa State, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident on Monday, adding that the police had launched a manhunt for the killers.
The Senate has said that it will not be in a hurry to pass the bill seeking for the establishment of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, following recent developments surrounding the organization.
Findings by www.icirnigeria.org revealed that Nigerians have been lodging different complaints against men and officers of the Nigeria Police through the Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit, PCRRU, created on November 13, 2015 by former Inspector General of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase to address issues emanating from unprofessional conduct of personnel of the Force.
Police spokesman Jimoh Moshood said items recovered from Goje's house include “money, documents and Laptop”, adding that “none of the items include 2017 budget document.”
The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has ordered Special X-Squad Teams to commence the removal of all such illegal blockage and other obstructions on public highways and roads.
