In the letter which was read on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday by the clerk of the Senate, the CG said he has a meeting to attend on Wednesday, hence his inability to answer the Senate’s summon.
The rifles were handed over to Director of the Lagos State DSS Command, Betty Adoki, who represented the DSS Director-General, Lawal Daura, at the Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘A’ Ikeja command of the NCS on Friday.
The Senate was irked by the insistence of the Customs to continue with the policy in spite of a resolution by the upper legislative chamber on Tuesday that the plan be put on hold.
