The Joint Military Task Foce deployed to the Niger Delta on Monday said its troops lost a solder and killed a suspected militant leader when the bandits launched an attack on troops in Ondo state.
The IYC president, Eric Omare said that suspects who have had no case of illegality established against them must be released as that will prove to the public that the military was not out to molest and humiliate law abiding citizens.

One of the militant groups that have terrorized the Niger Delta region in recent times, Bakassi Strike Force, BSF, has surrendered some of its arms to the Nigerian Military authorities as a sign of its willingness to surrender and quit militancy if the federal government addressed their concerns.
