Another of the kidnapped Chibok School girls has reportedly been rescued on Thursday. Rakiya Abubakar and her baby were said to have been rescued by troops of 27 Brigade around Alagarno area near Ajigin in Damboa Local government area of Borno State.
The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, has denied reports making the rounds claiming that the federal government paid a ransom in order to effect the release of some of the kidnapped Chibok girls.
President Muhammadu Buhari has declared he would continue talks with Boko Haram insurgents for the release of the remaining Chibok schoolgirls, as long as international agencies like the International Committee of the Red Cross, ICRC, will be involved.
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has urged public commentators and analysts to refrain from making "reckless" statements that could jeopardize the release of the remaining Chibok girls who are still in captivity.
