The federal government has congratulated the troops of the Nigerian military for finally seizing the Sambisa Forest from the Boko Haram terrorists and securing the Northeast, paving the way for the re-opening of two strategic roads in Borno State.
The Nigerian military on Wednesday said it has commenced the construction of roads into the Sambisa forest and Alagarno, which are strongholds of the Boko Haram Terrorist group.
The Nigerian military has said that the ongoing counter-terrorism operations going on in the North East is nearing its end as the Boko Haram terrorists are in total disarray while troops are currently in the heart of the Sambisa Forest which is the operational base of the terrorists.
The Nigerian military has said that several Boko Haram leaders were killed and others, including the presumed leader of the group, Abubakar Shekau, wounded in a raid on Sambisa Forest last Friday by the Nigerian Air Force.
