The www.icirnigeria.org has learnt that 16 soldiers, including their commanding officer, from a unit in 29 Brigade in Borno State, are still missing following an ambush on the troops while returning from a clearance operation on Friday morning.
It was a mixture of joy and sadness for the Nigerian troops on clearance operations in the Northeast on Friday Morning when the troops stormed Guro Gongon village and environs to rout out remnants of Boko Haram terrorists hibernating therein.
The Nigerian Troops engaged in fighting and clearance patrol, Codenamed “Operation TIGER CLAW” has rescued 38 women and 42 children in Gangere village, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
Troops of 29 Brigade’s Quick Reaction Force, QRF, of the Nigerian Army, with help from the youth vigilante group, Civilian JTF, on Friday successfully ambushed members of the Boko Haram terrorist group in Marguba, a village in Kaga local government area of Borno State, killing two while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
