Four days after twin explosions ripped through the central Jos in Plateau State, another bomb exploded in the city on Saturday near a football viewing centre.
Police spokesperson in the state, Felicia Anselm, who confirmed the incident, did not give further details.
It was gathered that the bombers parked close to a football viewing centre where soccer enthusiasts were watching the final European championship match between Real Madrid FC and Athletico Madrid FC.
Spokesman of the Special Taskforce, Ike Iweham, a captain, also confirmed the blast but gave no further details.
“The only thing I can confirm is that there was indeed an explosion,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gov Jonah Jang has asked Plateau residents to be courageous and support the war against terrorism.
Jang, in reaction to the Saturday blast, regretted that it was coming just four days after a similar one.
Twin explosions on Tuesday around the popular Jos main market left over a hundred persons dead.
