The Nigerian Army on Sunday confirmed the arrest in Abuja of one of the 100 suspected Boko Haram terrorists recently declared wanted by military authorities.
A statement issued by the acting Director Army Public Relations, Sani Kukasheka Usman, a Colonel, said that Chindo Bello, who is one of the declared wanted suspected Boko Haram terrorists, was captured at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja by aviation security.
Usman said that the wanted suspected terrorist was apprehended boarding Aero Contractors’ Airline flight to Lagos. He said the suspect has since been handed over to the military intelligence for interrogation and prosecution.
In an appeal, the Nigerian Army urged Nigerians to be more vigilant and assist security agencies with information about the wanted terrorists, their sponsors and other criminals in their areas.
