GUNMEN have again attacked Owo, in Ondo State, barely seven weeks after several worshippers were killed in an attack on a Catholic church in the town.
It was gathered that the latest attack took place at Folahami Junction on Wednesday evening.
Speaking to The ICIR, spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command Funmi Odunlami said two people were injured during a shootout in the town.
But she could not confirm if the gunmen were terrorists or mere bandits.
“Yes, there was a shooting incident at Craneburg Construction Company Owo, but only two people were injured.
“We have not identified the attackers; two people were injured. Investigation is ongoing,” she said.
Odunlami appealed to residents not to panic, saying the situation was under control.
The attack is coming a few weeks after many worshippers were killed when gunmen attacked St. Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
