Angry youths from Kogi State on Monday blocked the road leading to the hometown of Dino Melaye, the lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district at the National Assembly.
Chanting anti-Melaye songs, the youths set up bonfires along the road, singing a Yoruba song that implores God to “disturb those disturbing us”.
Melaye and Yahaya Bello, the Kogi State Governor, have been at loggerheads, each trying to displace the other of his political base.
Watch the video here:
Dino had threatened to mobilise state lawmakers to impeach the governor, who in retaliation has mobilised youths and citizens of Kogi West to begin a recall process of the senator.
HOw long will well -meaning Nigerians and genuine lovers of democracy endure and permit this hateful order of politicians & followers that elected them- where are the yardstick of candidacy before they were nominated and short listed at their party & constituency levels ? Where is the human love in volunteering to serve as political servants and where is the gain of electing them in these vital offices ?
Do they settle you with stomach infrastructure?are you leeching from their jumbo allowances & rewards ?
Will you repeat this retrogressive style of the rich going to politics again in your blessed country & paradoxically poor masses?
wither! Our wobbling democracies- for how long? Why is money & money to the nth term always dominate our politics -why & when are we going to go ethical above all other fleeting yet damaging factors in electing who to lead or to legislate for us? though no perfection in human affairss yet we deserve POLITICIANS Who Are BEYOND REPROACH .We want those who are nOt necessarily rich but enterprising & kind selfless – they need not be monetary rich – only net worthy intelligent honest and psychologically decolonized, conscientious select few who could serve the PEOPLE NOT THEIR ASSETS or POCKETS that we should be working towards 2019.Dont be fooled again!
If politics of assets & pockets are annulled nationally -corrupt datum will be cleansed gradually and we will then kow who REALLY ARE READY TO SERVE the citizens for holistic development majorly than going for BUSINESS AS USUAL politicians . NB,There are also followers for business as usual too- In fact they are the cog in the wheel of smooth sweeping off the floor of governance .. As Connie Giordano have said of some faithfuls ‘Many Have Gone Off The Track’
Ket s all meditate and CHANGE OUR MINDSET WHY WE ARE IN POLITICS & why we should serve creditably -not in battle with each other nor mobilizing youth for axing one another Imagine 5 youth or men almost killed in politics of power not of annulment!
do you know politics determine people s destiny, environmental benefits too- access to grid power, potable water, network of roads not necessarily flyovers as in Japan Are the existing roads maintained? Are educational levels and facilities planned and customized for individual learners gifts & career goal? Are there necessary statistics in place to employ teeming students been admitted to private @ public schools yearly & in ten to 20 years time?
Are Tests & Measurements impelled by elite grading system or ruled by potentials & gift identification so that the system can actualized the best in all tech craft or academic oriented disciplines?
do you know imbeciles will not even reach a typical first leaving school let alone get to secondary school!
Every student pupil has abilities that can be activated honed and trained to acquire knowledge & skills viable for effective livelihood & abundant service to humanity-it depends on the psyche of our bureaucrats & policymakers in politics – how visionary & how selfish or selfless and patriotic they are to pave way for holistic development of the future leaders.
Let’s all change – the led & leaders – why are you in political service & leadership?
Whereas there are virgin candidates or potentials who have never bee nonpartisan politicos yet they can lead evidently better than politicians who are always in battle with others – and not for the sake of the people they are supposed to represent !
We should annull politicos of THROWING THE BABY WITH THE BATH WATER
In politics as Eric Rowe wrote years back on good governance –it does pt matter what offices are to be filled but what MANNER OF MEN that fill the offices
