We Are Set For Kogi, Bayelsa Governorship Polls – Police

Solomon Arase

The Nigeria Police has declared its readiness for the upcoming governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states slated for November 21 and December 5 respectively.

In a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, the Force Spokesperson, Olabisi Kolawole, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP said that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase, has perfected plans to deploy additional manpower to the states to ensure hitch-free elections.

Kolawole said that the police leadership had also directed the deployment of federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, noting that the measures had become imperative to ensure proper monitoring of the electoral process.

“This is in addition to stepping up police visibilities on our Highways during the Yuletide. This is to systematically decapitate hoodlums taking advantage of the season to unleash terror on innocent Nigerians,” he said.
