2023: Atiku congratulates Tinubu on winning APC presidential ticket

A FORMER vice-president, Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on winning the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Atiku is the presidential candidate of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a Tweet on his personal Twitter page, Atiku said Tinubu’s victory underscored his tenacity.

    He tweeted, “Congratulations, @officialABAT, on your emergence as your party’s presidential candidate. It has been a hard-fought contest, but that you prevailed confirms your tenacity.”

    The ICIR  reported that Tinubu, a former senator and leader of the APC, got 1,271 votes in a landslide victory to emerge as the candidate of the APC in the 2023 general election.

    He was followed by the former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, who got 316 votes and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who scored 235 votes.
