APGA wins two state Assembly seats in Bayelsa

TWO candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have each won a seat in the Bayelsa state Assembly.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced this on Sunday, March 19.

APGA’s Oteigbanyo George-Braah was declared the winner of the Nembe constituency 1 seat after polling 2,928 votes.

He defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and incumbent lawmaker, Ebi Ben-Ololo, who got 2,356 votes, and Kenneth Standfast of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who had 485 votes.

APGA’s Waikumo Amakoromo also won Yenagoa constituency 2 — an area considered a PDP stronghold — with 4,971 votes.

He defeated Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai of the PDP, the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency.
