Buhari Seeks Support Of Nigerians Resident In Niger

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday assured Nigerians that they would not regret trusting him with their mandate, as he would do all he could to repay them.

He also said that his administration would put in place measures to address the numerous challenges facing the country.

Buhari gave this assurance while addressing Nigerians resident in the Republic of Niger during his visit to the country.

He said since Nigerians voted him into power based on the manifesto of his party, he would be guided by it in ensuring a revamp in nation’s critical sectors, particularly the economy.

He, however, asked Nigerians to exercise patience while waiting for the manifestation of their yearnings.
“However, daunting as the task to surmount these challenges may be, they are by no means insurmountable.

There is now a national consensus that our chosen route to national development is democracy. To achieve
our objectives, we must consciously work to improve the democratic system.”

He said his administration’s focus will be on security, economy, corruption and power shortages.

He urged Nigerians in Niger to support the new government in every area they could, as the task ahead was a collective one.

“I want to conclude by urging you to continue to remain law-abiding and to continue to be good ambassadors of the country as we embark on the journey of rebirth, development, evolution and integration,” Buhari said.
