President Muhammadu Buhari and his counterparts from the Lake Chad Basin Commission will on Thursday, in Abuja, hold a summit on Boko Haram militancy.
Presidents of Chad, Idriss Deby; Niger Republic, Mahamadou_Issoufou; and Republic of Benin, Boni Yayi, and their security chiefs are expected to attend the summit.
Cameroon’s Minister of Defence is equally expected to represent President Paul Biya.
Top on their agenda is a discussion on the security challenges bedeviling the region and ways at tackling such.
The countries are also expected to discuss modalities of establishing a joint task force.
Boko Haram insurgency has caused the deaths of over 20 000 people in the Northeast region of Nigeria and displaced over 1.5m people.
It has also wreaked havoc in neighboring African nations.
