Explosion In Kano Kills 8

A bomb explosion at the Kano State School of Hygiene located on BUK Road, Kano State, has left eight persons dead and 12 others injured, the has said.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Aderenle Shinaba, announced this when he briefed newsmen shortly after visiting the scene.

He said the explosion in the school occurred at about 2:05 p.m and that the 20 victims have been moved to the hospital, eight were confirmed dead and 12 others injured.

The vehicle used by the suspect has also been towed to the police headquarters.

Shinaba added that one suspect has been arrested and is undergoing interrogation at the police headquarters.

“The suspect is in our custody and we will get to know the motive behind the attack and who sent him on this deadly errand,” he said.

The explosion also affected several vehicles and houses in the vicinity and security has been beefed up around the area.
