Reports say the victims were returning from a burial they attended over the weekend when they were attacked and abducted by the hoodlums in the middle of the sea.
The police spokesman in Bayelsa State, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the attack and said an investigation was ongoing to rescue the abducted victims and arrest the culprits.
In 2018, pirates also attacked a Yenagoa-bound commercial boat and shot two passengers, including a pregnant woman known as Gulu Leghemo.
