President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed Rufa’i Alkali as his new special adviser on Political Affairs.
Alkali would be replacing Ahmed Gulak who was removed from office on April 29, 2014.
Alkali, a political scientist from Gombe State, is the pro-chancellor and chairman of governing council of the Federal University of Technology, Minna .
He has also been a staunch member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and served as its national publicity secretary from 2008 to 2012.
The President also announce the appointment of Baraka Sani as his senior special assistant for the Schools Agriculture Programme.

Sani was until recently the Kano State commissioner for Agriculture.
Both appointments are with immediate effect.
