The federal government on Wednesday announced the removal of Habib Abdullahi as the managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.
No explanation was given for Abdullahi’s sack but Sanusi Bayero, a Kano Prince, was named as his replacement.
A statement by Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, said Bayero’s appointment would take effect from Thursday.
The president thanked the former NPA chief executive for his contributions to the nation’s growth and wished him well.
It would be recalled that the president had come under criticism in the past few weeks for his removal of some public officials few weeks to the end of his tenure.
The president recently sacked former Inspector General of Police Suleiman Abba and also removed the head of the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, Femi Thomas replacing him with, Olufemi Akingbade.
