The police on Wednesday, brought Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west, before a magistrate court in Abuja, and re-arrested him immediately after his arraignment.
He was taken to the courtroom on a stretcher by police officers. Journalists were, however, denied access into the court premises and were prevented from moving close to the senator.
The movement of persons and vehicles was also brought to a halt around the court vicinity.
A source told TheCable that Melaye was granted a N90 million bail.
Melaye sustained injuries and was hospitalised after he jumped out of a moving vehicle conveying him to Kogi state based on accusations of conspiring with suspects arrested for kidnapping, political thuggery and illegal arms possession.
