Kano Sacks 9 Ministry Officials Over Fraud

The Kano State Governor,  Abdullahi Ganduje has sacked nine employees of the Ministry for Local Government over alleged financial fraud.

Governor Ganduje equally ordered the immediate suspension of a director at the state’s Ministry of Finance over alleged connivance to divert millions of naira in the ministries.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed from the office of the Head of Civil Service,  Muhammed Naiya, and made available to newsmen in Kano.

Ganduje then warned that any violation of due process would not go unpunished




     

     

    According to the statement ,preliminary investigation by a special committee indicted the affected officers.

    The state government has also handed over four employees of the Kano State Pension Funds Trustee to police authorities.

    The statement noted that the nine local government ministry employees were schedule officers under the platform of REMITA.

    Ganduje said the case has been handed over to the state Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission for investigation.
