A suicide bomber on Friday launched an attack on students and teachers at the College of Administrative and Business Studies, CABS, Potiskum, Yobe state, injuring many of them.
The suicide bomber entered the school in the early morning and started shooting indiscriminately from the gate, according to sources in the school.
The bomber was said to have been armed with an Improvised Explosive Devices, IED, strapped to his body and AK47 rifle.
However, after running out of ammunition following the shooting spree, the suicide bomber detonated the bomb on his body to escape being caught.
He was said to have injured several people who have since been rushed to the Potiskum General Hospital.
A source said that seven persons with gunshot injuries had been brought in for treatment at the hospital which is located beside the college.
The attack on the school was confirmed by the Police Public relations officer of the Yobe command, Toyin Gbadegesin, who said that only the bomber died during the attack while several others were injured.
The police spokesman advised members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious persons to the security agencies and not take for granted the successes recorded in recent times against terrorists in the North east.
