Nine Permanent Voters Card Thieves Arrested In Delta

    The Police in Delta State have arrested nine persons believed to be political thugs for allegedly stealing permanent voters’ cards meant for distribution in Ughelli South and Ethiope West local government area.

    The spokesperson of the Delta State police command, Celestine Kalu, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, said the crimes the electoral materials were stolen at unit 17 and 18 in Jeremi, ward 2 in Oginibo, unit 12 at Ekakpamre ward in Ughelli South and unit 6 Erha-Abraka in Ethiope West local government.

    According to Kalu, 503, 654 and 144 permanent voters’ cards were stolen were stolen from the wards in the two local governments respectively out of which all have so far been recovered except the144 cards stolen at unit 6 Erho-Abraka in Ethiope West local government area.

    The arrested men are said to be helping police investigations and efforts being made to recover the stolen permanent voters’ cards
