Areas covered by committee in the document include the economy, security, power, education and infrastructure.
Shehu noted that the study was embarked upon so that the proffered solutions could be made available to the incoming administration after the election.

He also said that Nigeria’s former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Christopher Kolade, who headed the committee on power, itemized various stages of the proposed power sector development plan to include short-term, medium-term, long-term solutions.

He said that for instance, under the short-term solution, the plan seeks to raise the country’s power generation to 10,000 MW within a specified period of time.

Shehu said that the president-elect thanked the committee for its efforts and promised to study the document.

The vice-chairman of the committee, a former minister of finance, Kalu Idika Kalu, said the committee worked hard at considering how critical sectors of the economy like education, security, economy, power and Infrastructure could be positively improved upon and hoped the recommendations would be useful in the policy thrust of the new government.
