AFTER several back and forths, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole, has rubber-stamped the Lagos State governorship primary election held on Tuesday, which produced Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the candidate of the party for the next governorship election.
Previously, a committee set up by the APC National Working Committee (NWC), headed by Clement Ebiri, had cancelled the direct primary election that held in the over 300 wards in Lagos State, recommending a fresh primary.
“We have to be careful because of the political tension in the state… we have to do things right. Lagos state is so important to us,” Ebiri had said.
However, according to TVCNews, Oshiomhole overruled Ebiri’s decision and upheld the election result that was announced by the Lagos State APC Chairman, Tunde Balogun.
Also, a post from the Twitter handle of the Lagos APC’, confirmed that Ebiri has made a U-turn and declared Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the primary election.
