Osibanjo Remains Acting President As Buhari Continues To Rest

President Buahari has said that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will continue as Acting President as he continues to rest.

The President said this at a meeting with his Cabinet and Service Chiefs on his arrival at the Presidential Villa on Friday.

“I deliberately came back towards the weekend so that the vice-president will continue and I will continue to rest,” he said.

Buhari said that he had never been this ill even while serving with the Nigerian Army with all its rigours adding that he still had more checks to undergo in the weeks to come.

“I am feeling much better now. There may, however, be need for further follow up within some weeks,” he stated.

The President also noted that his stay in the UK has made him realize that Nigeria has a long way to go in terms of Education development.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, in his remarks, said that it was a good feeling for Nigerians and the Federal Executive Council to receive the President back in the country “hale and hearty.”

“It is a day of joy not only for us but for the whole country, Africa and the world. Your arrival has vindicated our position that you will return safely,” he said.
