President Muhammadu Buhari paid an unannounced visit to soldiers taking part in counter insurgency operations in Maiduguri, Borno State on Sunday afternoon.

He said the visit was to appreciate them for their sacrifice and also to boost their morale.

In a statement on his official facebook handle, Buhari wrote:“I’m spending today visiting our troops in Maiduguri .

“The entire nation thanks our gallant Armed Forces for their heroic work rolling back the frontiers of Boko Haram ’ s terrorism .

“We will never forget their sacrifices . I ask that you remember them in your prayers.”
