Popular Kannywood actress Saratu Gidado passes on

VETERAN Kannywood actress Saratu Gidado, popularly known as Daso, has died aged 56.

The news of her death was confirmed by her relative, who spoke to Freedom Radio, based in Kano State.

The relation disclosed she was found lifeless Tuesday morning.

Her family members further revealed that she died in her sleep in the early hours of Tuesday, following the midnight meal – Sahur, before the start of the day’s Ramadan fast.

Daso was a successful and prominent figure in the Hausa film industry for over two decades. In addition to being an actress, she also taught in school.

Born on January 17, 1968, Daso hailed from Kano State and started her career as an actress in 2000 with her debut film, ‘Linzami Da Wuta,’ produced by Sarauniya Movies.
