Samson Siasia’s Mother Kidnapped In Bayelsa

Kidnappers in Bayelsa State have abducted the mother of head coach of Nigeria’s U-23 football team, Samson Siasia.

Beauty Siasia was abducted by unidentified gunmen who stormed the family residence of the Siasia’s in the early hours of Tuesday at Odoni community in Sagbama local area council of Bayelsa.

It was learnt that the 72 year old woman was forcefully taken away on a motorcycle but her whereabouts is still unknown.

The kidnappers were said to have fired warning shots when they got to her residence before forcefully taking her away.




     

     

    Spokesperson of the Bayelsa Police Command, Ansinim Butswat, an Assistant superintendent of Police, ASP, who confirmed the incident, could not give details.

    “At about 0020hrs, 16 November, 2015, three Unknown gunmen went to the residence of one Mrs Beauty Siasia 72yrs, at Odoni Community in Sagbama LGA, and abducted her to an unknown destination,” the police spokesperson said in a statement.

    “The command has intensified efforts to rescue the kidnapped victim and arrest the suspects,” Butswat added.

    There has been a spike in kidnapping in Bayelsa State in the last few months, with traditional rulers, the uncle of the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate, Timipre Silva, and the mother of his running mate, Wilberforce Agii, falling victim.
