Newly elected Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday, administered the oath of office and allegiance on 27 lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who were not at the formal inauguration on Tuesday.
The lawmakers include Ahmed Lawan, who battled for the seat with the incumbent.
The senators, after the votes and proceedings of the previous legislative day were adopted, took turn to take the oath by reading it and subsequently appending their signatures.
Afterwards, the Senate entered into a closed door session.
On Tuesday, Saraki, after the controversial election, administered oath of office and allegiance on the 75 other senators.
David Mark, the former senate president, was sworn in by the clerk of the senate, Salisu Maikasuwa, as a mark of honor for his strides at the hallowed chambers.
The senators had gathered at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, ostensibly waiting for President Muhammadu Buhari, who was billed to address them when the elections took place.
The Clerk of the National Assembly had in the period of confusion proclaimed the Eighth Senate and subsequently conducted the election.
The election, which had 23 APC senators in attendance, produced Saraki as president of the Senate, while Senator Ike Ekweremadu was elected his deputy.
