A yet-to-be-ascertained number of people are feared dead following a bloody clash between supporters of former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kankwanso, and serving member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, in Kofa, a village located in Bebeji local government area of Kano State, on Thursday.
According to a report by Daily Nigerian, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Kano State, Abba Yusuf, had scheduled his final rally at Kiru and Bebeji on Thursday. Yusuf is being supported by Kwankwanso, who has a very large following in Kano State.
But Kiru and Bebeji is the stronghold of Jibrin, a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, whose supporters barricaded the road, preventing the PDP motorcade from passing through Kofa village. This lead to a clash between the two groups.
