Senate President Bukola Saraki on Monday appeared before the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions and denied importing the Sport Utility Vehicle, SUV, seized by the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, for non payment of customs duties.
Senate President Bukola Saraki has denied allegations that he imported a luxury vehicle which was seized by the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, for failure to pay import duty.
Comptroller General of Customs, Hameed Ali,has said that the Customs Service has put a stop to cases of highly influential Nigerians who use their influence to illegally bring expensive items including exotic vehicles into the country without paying appropriate duties on them.
A total of 661 pieces of pump action rifles concealed in 49 boxes have been intercepted by the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, in Lagos, Hameed Alli, Comptroller General of customs, has said.
