The military operation in the Niger Delta region, Operation Crocodile Smile has been extended to Imo State, as government troops raided two prominent kidnappers' camps belonging to rival cultists.
Troops of 2 Brigade of the Nigerian Army participating in "Operation CROCODILE SMILE", an operation aimed at curtailing the activities of militants in the Niger Delta region, have destroyed 74 illegal refineries in the last two days and dismantled camps used by suspected kidnappers and militants in Rivers and Bayelsa states.
The Nigerian Army has confirmed death of four Soldiers in a boat mishap within Bayelsa waterways saying that the remains of the four soldiers were yet to be found, but residents say two bodies have so far been salvaged.
Some troops of the Nigerian military taking part in the ongoing training exercise, codenamed “Operation Crocodile Smiles” in the Niger Delta have drowned after a boat mishap in Bayelsa.
