The Nigerian military has said that the ongoing counter-terrorism operations going on in the North East is nearing its end as the Boko Haram terrorists are in total disarray while troops are currently in the heart of the Sambisa Forest which is the operational base of the terrorists.
The Nigerian military authorities have explained the incident that led to the death of Muhammad Abu-Ali, a lieutenant colonel ,and two other senior officers who were killed in Boko Haram ambushes.
Leo Irabor, the army commander in charge of the anti-terrorism war in the northeast, also called “Operation Lafiya Dole” has reiterated the Nigerian Army’s stand that the leader of Boko Haram group, Abubakar Shekau had long being killed.
The Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai has launched a public address system, “Peace FM”, in Maiduguri, Borno State, the operational headquarters of the counter insurgency operations also called “Operation Lafiya Dole”.
