NJC Tightens Regulations, Bars Judges, Court Staff From Accepting Gifts

Following recent developments in the Judiciary with regards to allegations of corruption among top judicial officers, the National Judicial Council, NJC, has announced a new set of regulations, barring judges and other court staff from accepting any form of gift from the other arms of government.

Justice Ademola Writes CJN, Says AGF Behind His DSS Ordeal

Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, Abuja, who was one of the seven senior judges arrested by the Department of State Security, DSS, last weekend, has written a letter to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Mahmud Mohammed, explaining his ordeal at the hands of the DSS and pointing accusing fingers at the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, Abubakar Malami, as being behind the whole saga.

DSS Arrests Two More Judges

Two more judges were reportedly arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services on Wednesday, bringing the number of judges so far arrested to 9.
