Yakubu Dogara

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has released his pay slips for the months of January to March, 2017 in reaction to the challenge by Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

In a statement issued on Monday by the governor’s media aide, Samuel Aruwan, El-Rufai said the release was in reaction to the challenge thrown at him by Dogara on Friday.

Speaker Dogara challenged Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State to practice what he preaches by extending his campaign for transparency in the National Assembly budget to other arms of government including how governors spend their security votes.

Though the agenda of the meetings is not yet clear, it may not be unconnected with the current face-off between the Senate and the executive

The House of Representatives has passed the Federal Competition Commission Bill, which signals the repeal of the Consumer Protection Act.

The leadership of the National assembly, led by Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, are billed to visit President Muhammadu Buhari in London where the President is currently observing a medical vacation.
