The Borno State Police Commissioner, Aderemi Opadokun, on Wednesday, confirmed the death of three suspected female suicide bombers in Konduga Local Government Area of the state.
The suspected terrorists died when improvised explosive devices strapped to their bodies detonated prematurely
The commissioner, who made this disclosure while speaking with journalists in Maiduguri, said the bombers died while on their way to Maiduguri to wreak havoc.
“Three suspected female suicide bombers died in Konduga LGA about 18 kilometres to Maiduguri on Tuesday when IEDs strapped to their bodies detonated. All the three suicide bombers were killed and there was no other casualty,” Opadokun said.
He also confirmed another blast at Tungushe Dogonwaya area along Baga/Monguno Highway.
He however failed to give more details.
