The Borno Police Command has confirmed that two people were killed in a suicide bombing incident that occurred at the Muna garage, along Gamboru Ngala road, Maiduguri.

Spokesman of the command, Victor Isuku, disclosed this in a statement released on Thursday in Maiduguri, the capital of insurgency-ravaged Borno State.

He stated that the explosion occurred on Wednesday night at “About 21.06 hours.”

“Two persons, including the suicide bomber, died on the spot while a Mercedes Benz car with registration number, AX 571 ABJ, parked by the road side was damaged by the impact of the explosion,” Isuku stated.

The police spokesman added that normalcy has since returned to the area.

In a similar development, two female bombers, suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists, were neutralized as they tried to stage a double suicide attack in Cameroon’s Far North Thursday, with one blowing herself up and the second shot dead by troops.

Military sources told the media that the two young suicide bombers entered the town of Mora at around 7:30 am.

“When we tried to arrest them, one blew herself up, wounding the other,” he said, adding that the second bomber was shot dead by soldiers from an elite unit fighting on the frontlines.
