VIDEO: Ambode goes on speaking as thugs had a field day during Lagos APC rally

THE Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) kickstarted its governorship campaign rally for the 2019 general election on Tuesday, but the event was marred by massive violence.

A video clip of the event showed where several thugs invaded the Skypower Ground Ikeja, venue of the rally, wielding daggers and other dangerous weapons and attacking rival groups.

While the mayhem was ongoing, the Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode, who was delivering a speech, continued with his speech, caring less about the happenings at the square, or perhaps oblivious of it. Attempts by mobile policemen to quell the clashes by firing into the air in a bid to scare the thugs away failed as the free for all continued unabated.

Even at the gunshots, Ambode continued to speak, the video showed.

The video clip, which has gone viral on the social media, was captured by Ovation Media, owned by Dele Momodu, a former presidential aspirant.
