Boko Haram insurgents stepped their terrorist onslaught on Wednesday morning when they stormed Alagarno village in Borno State killing 19 persons.
Alagarno is close to Askira in Askira/Uba local government area of the state.
Residents of the village said the armed terrorists invaded the town in the early hours of Wednesday and carted away food stuff after setting several houses ablaze.
One of the villagers who identified himself as Umaru Saina, said, “They destroyed everything we have and burnt down our remaining food. The most painful thing is that they did not spare children. They kill a child, they kill women, and they equally kill men.”
The Emir of Askira, Abdullahi Mohammed Askirama, confirmed the incident, disclosing that 17 persons were killed and over 60 houses were razed down.
