The Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) has called off its strike, following a meeting with the federal government on Monday.
The announcement was made by Biodun Ogunyemi, ASUU National President, who noted that the suspension of the strike is only provisional until October.
Ogunyemi said this will afford the government ample time to fulfill the demands made by the union.
ASUU said lecturers are expected to resume duty from Tuesday, September 19.
