Buratai Decorates 2,903 Soldiers Fighting Boko Haram

Buratai decorated soldiers

As part of the Nigerian military’s usual efforts to motivate its personnel at the war front, the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, a Lieutenant General, on Tuesday decorated 2,903 soldiers currently fighting the Boko Haram insurgents in the North east.
Buratai said at the decoration ceremony at the 28 Task Force Brigade Headquarters, Mubi that the essence of his visit was to inspect, assess the performance of personnel and motivate them in order to ensure that December deadline for defeating the terrorist group is realised.
He said that the soldiers’ sacrifices in protecting the country’s sovereignty from enemies like Boko Haram terrorists and other criminals would not be in vain.
The army chief also commended traditional ruler of Mubi for his support for the troops while soliciting further support from youth vigilante groups, hunters and other stakeholders.
“We will not relent, we still need continued cooperation because we are working toward limited time of December deadline. We, therefore, solicit for your support, particularly timely information and report of any suspicious character,” he stated.
