Five male suicide bombers attacked three different locations, including a tiny Internally Displaced Persons, IDP camp, in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Wednesday, leading to the death of three other persons.
The attacks occurred at about 4 am on Wednesday, around the Muna Garage area; a location that has witnessed series of such attacks in recent times.
Unofficial sources say the first location, Muna Kumbori, where an IDP camp housing less than 200 persons is located, was attacked by three suicide bombers, leading to the death of two persons.
The second blast occurred at Muna Dagalti, where the suicide bomber succeeded in killing one other person.
One suicide bomber was the only casualty in the third attack that occurred at Muna Bulaya.
In all, 20 other people sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of the terrorist attacks and were moved to the State’s specialist hospital after emergency agencies had administered first aid on them.
The dead victims were deposited at the mortuary.
Exactly one week ago, four teenage female suicide bombers attacked the same Muna Garage area of Maiduguri around 1.15 in the morning.
Reports had it that the girls knocked on a door and detonated their suicide vests when somebody came to answer.
About 16 persons were also injured in the blasts.
