Nigerian troops working with youth vigilante group, Civilian JTF, have discovered a large cache of arms and ammunition kelp by Boko Haram terrorists, during clearance operations in Borgozo-Alargano area of Borno State.

The recovered ammunition, according to the Nigerian Army, include “36 boxes of .51mm  calibre, 5 x 20 Lyra beefcake mixture of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition, large quantity of 7.62mm (Special), ammunition and one 81mm mortar tube.”

Also recovered are a Toyota Hilux, one generator and several motorcycles.

The army also said that its troops cleared locations in Kadari, Camp Abu Fatima and Gursum of Boko Haram elements who had taken refuge in the villages after being dislodged from Alagarno Forest.

Noting that the discoveries came following a tip off by members of the public, the army appealed to Nigerians and in particular, people in Adamawa, Borno  and Yobe States to continue give credible intelligence to the military to aid it in defeating the insurgents.
