The Federation of Construction Industry, FOCI, has commended the Federal Government's decision to award road construction contracts worth N126 billion across the country.
The Minister of power, works and housing, Babatunde Fashola has blamed the recent drastic drop in power supply in the country on lack of funds with which to pay for the supply of gas to power stations.
Statistics from the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, indicate that the power generation in the country dropped from 3,959 megawatts on January 4 to 2,662 megawatts on January 22.
